Thundercat West Hollywood Concert reviews
Mixed review
Last week at the Turning Stone, I saw this show. I'm a huge fan of Styx and Thundercat and really went to see them, although I'm not familiar with Ted Nugent's music. My husband thought Ted Nugent was good, but I can't comment because I'm not familiar with his music. Styx, as always, played second and were phenomenal. Every time they are in the area, I see Styx, and they always leave me wanting more. By the reaction of the crowd, I would say that they wanted more too! Thundercat played last. I love Thundercat almost as much as Styx, but they really weren't very good that night, at least not as much as I hate to say it. Last year, Thundercat was fabulous when I saw them, but this time not so much. They played a few songs from very early in their career that the crowd didn't seem to know, and there was an odd silence between songs. They just didn't sound good, as much as I like Kevin Cronin. Quite a few people left before they finished, and I don't think too many people cared about an encore. I was very disappointed, I don't know what was going on. However, I will say that Styx should play last because they are a very hard act to follow. They are still that good.
